1. The Snake Pit Opens: A world class 10,000 square foot installer training facility located at Directed’s Vista headquarters.

The Snake Pit is located on the Southern California headquarters campus of Directed Electronics, an unsurpassed industry leader in technical support and training for more than 20 years. Directed’s award-winning field training program educates, entertains and motivates 5,000 installers each year. Directed is the mobile electronics field training champion – no one else even comes close. Now Directed has gone beyond field training to provide hands-on education in the very latest, most state-of-the-art technical training facility: The Snake Pit.

This brand new, 10,000 square foot training facility was custom designed and includes a full wood shop, welding and cutting equipment for metalworking, a full paint booth, clean-room and a complete training room with benches and a custom ventilation system. Upstairs is a bright, cool and comfortable 5,000 square foot lecture hall. 2. The Science of Security: Clifford G5 introduces its new 2-Way Spread-Spectrum Dot Matrix Menu Remote with One Mile Range.

This is simply the most advanced keychain device ever made! Scroll the wheel and see a vast selection of icons (drawn on the LCD screen via Dot Matrix.) Select the icon, enlarge it and press the button to send a command or sensor adjustment to the vehicle via Spread Spectrum, with ultra-extreme range of up to a full mile!

That’s just the remote. The system CPU itself is the most advanced Clifford system Directed has ever made, with 3-point immobilization and three separate sensors: digital tilt sensor, OmniSensor and remotely adjustable proximity sensor, with BlackJax anti carjacking, Smart Self-Powered Siren, 3 auxiliary outputs and built-in relays.

The AvantGuard 5.5X is simply the state-of-the-art 2-Way vehicle security and convenience system in the world.

3. Revolutionary New Security Systems debut from Viper, Python and Matrix, with cutting edge new features including remote adjustable shock sensor and 5 auxiliary outputs.

A revolutionary advance in 2005 for Viper, Python and Clifford Matrix customers, the new security platform offers three new security systems in each line which share the same advanced yet easy-to-install CPU, with 5 auxiliary channels, remote adjustable shock sensor and other great new features never before available. Retailers can present these new systems to customers as GOOD (1-Way), BETTER (LED 2-Way) and BEST (Responder, now with a dedicated programming button for true multi-vehicle operation).

4. New Viper, Python and Matrix Responder Security remote with new sensor icons and multi-vehicle operation button.

The multiple award-winning Responder systems from Directed are the industry standard for 2-Way communication between the user’s keychain remote and their vehicle. Now in 2005, check the icons on the redesigned Responder security screen and you’ll see some great new features:

  • Shock sensor level readout on-screen
  • Multi-Vehicle Icon indicates selected vehicle
  • Individual icons for each sensor

That’s not all! Turn the Responder security remote around and what do you see on the back? A fifth button for programming and multi-vehicle selection. Finally, Responder security systems now use ASK Technology, so they are fully compatible with standard 266 1-Way remotes! Once again, Responder sets the standard.

5. Directed Exclusive: Mobile Electronics Retail Distribution of SIRIUS Sportster and SiriusConnect Tuners.

Directed and SIRIUS have teamed up to provide an affordable satellite radio receiver for the car, for the home and on the go, with unique sports features. The Sportster is a game-winning touchdown! Available in Car Kit, Home Kit and Boombox configurations, with accessories.

Everything you need to access high quality satellite radio service is included in the convenient package.

While you’re at it, check out the impressive new Directed Audio SX Woofers and Speakers – everyone is going to love the new lineup, because as always Directed Audio is The Power of Music.

8. Directed Video Headrest Program Introduced at SEMA Shipping by CES.

Directed Video now offers Factory Replacement Headrests, prefabricated for 7” Directed video monitors. These new headrests fit 150 different vehicles, with more than 500 color combinations in cloth, vinyl and leather. Each headrest comes with dual wireless headphone transmitters and a wired headphone jack, so each passenger can watch their own movie.

Unlike many competing headrests, Directed offers three position ratchets to adjust the viewing angle: one click, two clicks, three clicks and then back to the original viewing angle.

The new Directed headrests offer stealth mounting. The connecting wires go through the headrest post, and each monitor comes with a slipcover to prevent theft.

9. Featured on MTV: West Coast Customs-branded Audio and Video products by Orion and Directed Video.

The well-known crew from MTVs hottest show Pimp My Ride get their own high performance branded audio and video products in 2005, courtesy of Orion and Directed Video. Check the new WCC Orion subwoofers, based on the H2 platform, with new, taller & thicker surrounds for more Xsus and high performance muscle. While you’re at it, take a long look at the 17 inch WCC Overhead splitscreen monitor – the biggest screen we’ve ever made.
